  Cultural Diversity
  Social Proc. & Institutions
  Literature & Arts

Difference, Power & Discrimination (DPD) (3 cr)

Synthesis (6 cr)
  Contemp. Global Issues
  Sci., Tech., & Society

  Biological Science
(4 or 5 cr)
BI 212 strongly recommended

Other Requirements:
180 cr   last 45 cr (or 45 of last 60 cr) completed at OSU
60 upper division credits   foreign language c

Footnotes:
a Meets WIC requirement.  It is strongly recommended that CH 422 be taken as a co-requisite with CH 462.
b Courses from approved list. For perspectives, no more than two courses from one department.  For synthesis, courses must be from different departments. Transfers from Oregon Community Colleges with an AA degree have fulfilled the skills and perspectives requirements.
c Requirement can be met by taking two years of one foreign language in high school, two terms of a college-level language (C- or higher) or an approved proficiency test.
d The combination of CH 421, CH 422, and CH 461 is recommended for the strongest background in analytical chemistry, with this option only one inorganic chemistry course is required (CH 411) so that this option adds only 2 credit hours to the total.
e From a list approved by SED that are different from those required in the Chemistry (Science) core.  See http://oregonstate.edu/dept/sci_mth_education/program/pte/inform_current/endorsements/adding_endorsements.html
